West Ham rival Brentford in race for Hull duo Keane Lewis-Potter and Jacob Greaves

West Ham's bid to strengthen their squad this summer could lead to moves for Hull duo Keane Lewis-Potter and Jacob Greaves, although they face competition for the pair's signatures from Brentford, 90min understands.

The Hammers are challenging for a top four Premier League finish for the second successive season, but failed to make a signing in the January transfer window despite manager David Moyes indicating a desire to strengthen his squad.

West Ham are no strangers to dipping into the Championship market for signings and 90min has learned that Keane-Potter and Greaves, who have both impressed this season despite Hull's lowly position in the table, are two players the club have been monitoring closely.

Lewis-Potter in particular has caught the eye, with West Ham scouts recognising that the 21-year-old has the potential to emulate winger Jarrod Bowen, who has enjoyed a terrific run of form at London Stadium.

Indeed, Bowen, who moved to West Ham from Hull in a deal worth up to £25m deal two years ago, is on the cusp of a first England call-up after scoring eight goals and contributing a further eight assists in the Premier League so far this season.

Centre-back Greaves, also 21, is on a transfer shortlist that includes Middlesbrough's Dael Fry and Queens Park Rangers' Rob Dickie, and there's also been interest shown in Isaiah Jones, Brennan Johnson and Antoine Semenyo over recent weeks.

Brentford, meanwhile, enjoyed a fine start to their maiden season in the top flight, but their form has tailed off over the past couple of months and they're now among seven teams scrapping for Premier League survival.

90min revealed last month that the Bees were keen on signing Lewis-Potter in the January window but they failed to reach an agreement with the Tigers. Young striker Marcus Forss moved to the MKM Stadium on loan from Brentford on deadline day, however.

Thomas Frank's side were also hoping to thrash out a deal for Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson last month but again couldn't get a move over the line.
