Brentford's poor run of form continued when there went down 2-1 at home to lowly Stockport County at Griffin Park. The Bees have now only taken one point out of the last fifteen.

The visitors opened the brighter with Ali Gibb prominent on the right side of midfield.

On 11 minutes Mickael Antoine-Curier saw his right-foot strike from just inside the box turned aside by the keeper for a cornerAnd a minute later a corner from the left by Martin Rowlands was tipped away by the keeper to Rowan Vine and his instinctive header just missed the target.

At the other end Luke Beckett broke clear and with only keeper Paul Smith to beat defender Lee Fieldwick came to the rescue with a great saving tackle.

On the 20-minute mark Jon Daly headed down Gibb's right-wing cross in the area and Beckett's resulting shot on the turn was blocked by the keepers legs.

The home side took the lead six minutes from the break when a Fieldwick free kick was flicked on by Scott Marshall and Antoine-Curier, on loan from Nottingham Forest, steered the ball inside the near post from close range.

Six minutes after the break County equalised when a cross from the right found Beckett and his powerful header beat keeper Smith all ends up at the near post.

Three minutes later County took the lead when a cross form Gibb was swept home by Beckett from six yards to score his second goal of the game and 25th of the season.

On the hour mark Daly's 25-yard left-foot strike was well saved by Smith. The visitors continued to take the game to the home side and ran out worthy winners to ease their relegation fears.
