Bees keep pressure on play-off rivals
Brentford kept their play-off hopes alive by securing a fifth straight win with an emphatic 3-0 victory over struggling Bury.
A brace from Sam Saunders Shaleum Logan's strike took the Bees to within three points of the top six as they broke down a spirited defensive display from the Shakers.
Saunders broke the deadlock just before the break with a superb free-kick, which whistled past the seven-man wall and in off the far post.
Saunders added to his tally just after the hour mark when Clayton Donaldson dummied on the edge of the penalty area and he ran on before slotting into the far corner.
Logan stretched the home side's lead five minutes later when he ran on to Donaldson's lay-off to draw the goalkeeper and slide home a cool finish.
Saunders was only denied his hat-trick by a last-ditch Efe Sodje tackle, while Bury midfielder Steven Schumacher was lucky not to be shown a straight red card for a late lunge on Jonathan Douglas.
