Whitbread insists 'one game at a time' is the Bees only option

Brentford assistant manager Adrian Whitbread insists the club are taking things one game at a time with a hectic schedule looming.

With the beginning of a schedule yesterday which sees four games in seven days starting with a win yesterday was key,

"We battled hard for our three points but it was certainly a difficult game"

The run culminates in an fifth round clash against Charlton and after dumping out Sunderland in the last round they will be confident as one defeat in seven puts them in the tie as the form team,

"We are concentrating on one game at a time, starting with Bristol yesterday we then move onto Southend. We have 54 points now which is a fantastic achievement"

When asked if boss Allen was considering resting some of the squad for the arguably bigger games against Southend and Charlton, Whitbread added: "Not at all.

"Our emphasis is the same preparing for the league and the cup - they both bring in a lot of revenue which is good for a lower league club like Brentford. We want to take this club as far as we can."
