Brentford head coach Keith Andrews held recovery and tactical analysis meetings on Tuesday morning as the Bees looked to bounce back from their narrow 2-1 home defeat against Liverpool on Saturday.
Brentford pushed the Reds all the way despite playing the entire second half with 10 men following the sending off of Yehor Yarmoliuk on the stroke of half-time.
Alexander Isak ultimately netted the decisive winner for the Reds, ending Brentford's stubborn resistance in the closing stages of the game.
Despite the disappointment of leaving empty-handed, Andrews highlighted the immense character shown by his players and demanded that identical intensity be carried into next Sunday's trip to the MKM Stadium to face Hull City.
"Playing with 10 men against a club like Liverpool for 45 minutes demands extraordinary sacrifice," he said. "The lads gave everything on that pitch, and while the result is painful, that fighting spirit is exactly what will define our season."
