Former Brentford player Alan Hawley passes away at the age of 79.
Hawley is 11th on Brentford’s all-time appearances list and was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2013, aming 343 appearances for the club and scoring four times.
Hawley made his first-team debut against Barrow in 1962 at the age of 16 years, 3 months and 22 days - the youngest to ever play for the club.
He left Griffin Park at the end of the 1973/74 season and went on to play for Hillingdon Borough, Wimbledon, Kingstonian, Walton & Hersham, and Ruislip Manor.
He also managed Hillingdon Borough, but eventually returned to Brentford in the early 1990s, working under Joe Gadston in the club’s youth system.
